Self-Hypnosis as a Path to Personal Growth

Self-Hypnosis Practices

Why Seishindo self-hypnosis?
We believe that most people develop an interest in self-hypnosis because they want to be able to live a life of greater fulfillment. People have a desire to accomplish certain goals that they currently seem incapable of achieving, and thus they have an inkling that there must be "a better way" to manage stress, control one's weight, stop smoking, etc. It is our belief that self-hypnosis helps you to have a better experiential and emotional understanding of yourself. The more you understand about yourself, the more likely it is that you will be able to create a more fulfilling life.

The main tasks of Seishindo self-hypnosis are:
1. Develop a relationship of cooperative communication between your rational self and your somatic self.
Through the ongoing practice of self-hypnosis you learn how to communicate with your entire self, both verbally, and non-verbally. In the process, you enlist the resources of your emotions and your intellect, in order to bring about a more balanced life.
2. Understand more about how you, as a unique individual, react to the world around you.
3. Understand how the way you use your body, determines the way you feel, think, and act.
4. Further your connection to the Spirit that animates all life.

What does it take to enter a hypnotic state of mind?
Entering into a positively oriented self-hypnotic state requires a change of posture, calm breathing, slowing down one's thought processes and internal dialogue, and the spreading of one's awareness so as to include more of what is transpiring in and around you. This is a NATURAL way of changing your awareness of the present moment, the awareness of yourself as part of the present moment, and your connection to Spirit.

How does Seishindo self-hypnosis do away with a problem?
Seishindo self-hypnosis is not designed to do away with problems. Instead Seishindo self-hypnosis is designed to bring greater awareness and understanding to the challenges you face. In actuality there isn't a problem to do away with, rather only a rewarding challenge to be engaged in.

The process of Seishindo self-hypnosis helps dissolve the fixed negative meaning your current "problems" hold for you. As you come to realize that each "problem" indeed offers you an opportunity to change and thrive, you look to embrace your "problem" as a way of opening up to the gifts that are inherent in each challenge.

What is special about Seishindo self-hypnosis?
The Seishindo self-hypnosis system draws on the wisdom of the Japanese martial art Aikido, and the Japanese health management systems of "Sei Tai" and "Seiki Jutsu" and melds this knowledge with concepts from Ericksonian Psychology, Self Relations Therapy, and NLP. Seishindo self-hypnosis offers you the best of both Eastern and Western models of health and well-being.

Self-hypnosis by Charlie Badenhop
Self-hypnosis is a natural way of changing your awareness of the present moment, and the awareness of yourself as part of the present moment.
PRACTICES
1. Breath-talking
As a "Breath Talker" you talk and breathe in harmony. Your sense of harmony will lead you to a generative hypnotic state.
2. Open perspective
Use your self-hypnosis skills to create a mental image and emotional feeling of how you look and feel having already accomplished your goal...
3. Tuning in
This practice helps to better understand or change an issue, relationship, or circumstance in your life.
4. "Only One, only moving, only calm"
Enter a hypnotic state and notice how movement and breath connect all living beings together, as active players in the symphony of life.
5. "Melting the thinking mind"
Self-hypnosis helps to melt your thinking mind. The idea in this practice is to experience the mind that comes prior to thinking. The mind that does not understand the concepts of right and wrong.

6. Somatic Self-Hypnosis:
"Do it more and do it better"

Transforming anxiety into excitement.
7. Peak Performance Coach Var.#1
The main thrust of this exercise is helping you to begin to understand the early stages of self-hypnosis and peak performance states.
8. Heartbeat Mantra
This is a classic self-hypnosis practice and can be used for general calming, for getting clear on an authentic goal or desire, when looking for inspiration on how to accomplish a goal, when needing to make a decision.
9. The future is Now
This Practice is designed to help you achieve your current goals, from the perspective of the future.
10. Heartbeat Breath - Calming Breath
When you calm your breathing you calm your body. When you calm your body, you calm your thinking and your internal dialogue. When you calm your body and your thinking, you calm your mind.
11. Whole Body Breathing
Working with this Practice can offer you a powerful way to begin to really connect to, and understand more about your Whole Self.
