"Aikido Basics"
A new book by Phong Sensei and Dr. Seiser

On December 6th, 2003 the Westminster Aikido Dojo in Southern California hosted a book signing for the recently released book "Aikido Basics" by Tuttle Publishing. The authors, Phong Sensei and Dr. Seiser, were present to talk about the book and sign copies. They thanked all those who assisted in the work, offered humble apologies for any errors or omission they admit exist in any work, and to say that Tuttle Publishing was currently considering their next two volumes on combination and counters, and weapons.

Sihan Francis Takahashi (6th Dan Aikikai Foundation, Aikido Academy of Temple City, CA), always an honored guest, had the following words to say; "I am very honored to be here and give overdue recognition for Phong Sensei's contributions to Aikido both here in the United States and internationally. I also have a very high regard for Lynn Seiser for having the opportunity and the gumption to take this very tremendous task on his shoulders and writing this magnificent book. I have had the chance to read a preview of this book and truly feel it's the best initial offering for Aikido beginners and a good foundation to people who are experienced. I thank Lynn Seiser and Phong Sensei for a wonderful book and look forward to the next two. Thank you."

Others have offered the following "Aikido Basics" endorsements:

"I have learned that Phong Sensei is going to publish a basic Aikido book in English. This is wonderful. Aikido has been practiced and loved by many people all over the world. Aikido promotes "inner peace" through "circular movement". With the help of the book, I trust the number of followers will increase even more. Aikido is a viable way in this tumultuous world. I believe peace will prevail. I am very delighted about the publishing of this book."
Masatake Fujita Shihan, Secretary General Aikikai Foundation

"My congratulations to Sensei Phong and Dr. Lynn Seiser. Your book is a clear expression of our beautiful art of Aikido and is aptly titled "Aikido Basics." It addresses the questions and concerns of the beginning student in an intelligent and simple way and is the perfect handbook for advanced students and the established teacher as well. Excellent job well done! Without question I recommend it."
Sensei (6th Dan) Frank McGouirk, Aikido-Ai Dojo and Whittier Dharma Kai Zen Center of Whittier, CA.
