Finding Inner Peace
Exploring the body language of migraine headaches and chronic pain
Antwerp, Belgium, January 20, 2007, 9:30-17:30

A young baby can't communicate in words, and thus it cries out for help when in distress. When the agony of a migraine headache or chronic pain surges through your system, it is your body's way of crying for help. "Pain" is the body language that signals excess energy is building up in your system and needs releasing. As you come to understand this simple truth, you can begin to explore and appreciate your distress as a signal that you need to find a better way to care for yourself, emotionally and physically.

In this workshop you will learn how to:
Better understand and honor your body language and emotional needs
Release excess energy trapped in your system and use this energy to fuel your health, well-being, and happiness
Feel more at home in your body and more at ease in the world
Understand the lifestyle changes you can make to help you stay emotionally and physically healthy
Resolve the conflicts you've been feeling within yourself and with those you are in relationship with

In this experiential workshop we'll weave together theory, poetry, music, and a childlike sense of discovery, as we draw on the teachings of NLP, Aikido, Ericksonian Hypnosis, Yoga, and other mindfulness disciplines.

What the participants of our "Finding Inner Peace" workshops say:

Charlie,

I don't have the words to tell you how wonderful your work is and how wonderful I feel! I have this distinctly different "at home in the world" sensibility. It's like a huge wall between me and others has washed away!

My shoulders were totally soft when I woke up the next morning, and EVERYONE (without any input from me) commented on how different my face looked...

It seems like the chronic fatigue/muscle soreness has loosened up all over my body. My energy is much more even and I’m not losing focus or having to push through fatigue. What a wonderful relief to not have to use so much energy to manage my pain. I feel like a person released from jail, and ready to explore a new life!

The other thing is, I am more relaxed and honest in my relationships. I had a very effective and honest interaction (I would have called it a fight in the old days) with my 26 year old son and we both felt really good about it afterwards.

So thank you, thank you, thank you, to you and Marleen, for sharing your gifts with us!

Out of a deep sense of thanks for what I've received and a desire to help fellow sufferers, I write the following: I've had migraines and fibromyalgia for years. I took pills, talked to doctors, and tried lots of different remedies, but the pain just got worse. As a last resort I took the Seishindo "Finding Inner Peace" workshop on October 30, 2006, and I am feeling blessed for having done so! It's been several weeks now and I continue to feel better each day. No more pain pills because I don't hurt as much and believe it or not, my vision has also improved! Charlie and Marleen gave me tools to work with on my own, so I have a sense that I will continue to get better. I learned that my pain is a gift and my emotional well-being is key to how I deal with that gift.

Charlie and Marleen's knowledge of the biochemical, and emotional causes of pain gave me a new way to think about myself and my pain. Their bodywork is perhaps the crown jewel of their work though. It is gentle, intense, sensitive, and profound. The pain of my migraine was significantly lessened within a half hour of them working on me. Believe me, such results are MUCH more than I was expecting. Frankly, the results were more than I had been hoping for! Now I have learned to hope for more in the future. That in itself is a gift.

I heartily recommend Charlie and Marleen's work to everyone. If you are ready to begin to live a much healthier life, free from the burden of chronic pain, then you will find their work to be a wonderful, wonderful gift.
